ASPEN + ANDREW

So, let me tell you about this day I’d been waiting for for a whole year—seriously, it was like a countdown to Christmas! I'd met Aspen for coffee, and what was supposed to be a quick catch-up just turned into an hour-long heart-to-heart. We talked about everything: travelling, family values that shaped us, and everything in between. It felt like we’d known each other for ages, and I just knew their wedding day was going to be something special.

Fast forward to that sunny October day in Dookie, where Aspen and Andrew had transformed an untouched paddock and old shearing shed on the Nicolson property into an incredibly stunning backdrop. You could feel the love not just in their vows but in every little detail they incorporated. They had the two boys that were the reason they got together as their ring bearers, and Andrew hand-made the pews that guests sat on at the ceremony and bar stools at the reception — which I thought was pretty impressive!

Just looking through these photos you can see how comfortable these guys were, and me, in capturing these moments. The day was unmistakably down-to-earth—just the kind of country wedding that makes you want to smile all day and party all night long! How incredibly lucky was I to have met this crew and call it a day’s work.

Now, it’s kind of amazing to reflect on that day all these months later, especially since Aspen and Andrew are expecting their first child — who we know will be showered with all the love they have for each other.
